The "Waikyoku Hariko" (distorted papier-mâché) technique was initiated in 2020, having been developed with inspiration drawn from bronze casting. It derives its name from the fact that a distorted form is created by applying dyed paper to a mold and subsequently hollowing out the interior.

The process is carried out as follows:

1. A solid male mold (referred to as a nakago-gata or core mold) is created by shaping paper into a rough form.

2. The paper is dyed with pigments.

3. The dyed paper is applied to the solid mold.

4. Once the surface has dried, the layer of dyed paper is peeled off.
